A Life of Service to Iowa
Brian Reimers is a Democratic candidate for the Boone County Board of Supervisors. Brian is is a retired teacher, coach, and activities director with 37 years of service to the Ogden Community School District. Since retiring from education he has worked with a local farmer, helping with planting, and harvesting and learning more about agriculture.
Brian has served on the Ogden City Council for 30 years, so he is a veteran elected official. His career in education and his city council service has taught him about budgeting and how to work effectively with others to make progress. Brian is a member of the Boone County Force Board, Boone County Endowment Board, Emergency Management Board and Boone County Communications Board. He also serves as a Boone County Hospital Trustee, an elected position.
Brian has a particular interest and expertise in regional economic development. He serves on the Executive Board of Boone County Growth as a representative of Ogden Legacy which is the financial partner of the Ogden City Council. The Legacy group has been responsible for several key projects in Ogden, including the building of a new medical clinic and a new Fareway grocery store after the local grocery store burned down.
Working with the City of Boone, he was also instrumental in bringing the Daisy plant to Boone County. Brian and his wife are also active members of Zion Lutheran Church in Ogden where has served on the Church Council. They have 2 kids and 6 grandkids.
Brian believes that Boone County is the best place to live, work and raise a family. His life of
service has prepared him well to be a county supervisor, where he wants to help attract new
business to the county, raise revenue for critical services and help take the lead in using
technology to serve the citizens of the county.
